Story
This delightful brindle girl with the big Frenchie smile arrived in FBRN care from a commercial breeder. She is a happy, confident dog who plays well with others and loves being with her people. Her hobbies include chew toys, sunbathing, and being held on her back like a baby, preferably with belly rubs. Swoon!
At five years old, Dorothy is in excellent health. She has a history of anaplasmosis (a.k.a. tick fever), but has recovered and is not currently showing any symptoms. And while she arrived in foster care with a terrible case of the itchies and two infected ears, a course of antibiotics and a change in diet nipped those right in the bud. Dorothy is crate trained and potty trained, although, she does not signal to be let out. In her foster home, she’s kept on a regular schedule to avoid indoor accidents.
Dorothy would be happy in just about any living situation, so long as she gets plenty of attention from her people. Loud noises and sudden movements make her a little nervous, so a quiet household would suit her best, as would dog-savvy kids who are older and less prone to zoomies of their own. Dorothy is fairly submissive and gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes, and she would love to have a canine playmate who is about her size. Unfortunately, since she’s not been tested with cats, we have to say no to homes with kitties.
Dorothy’s foster mom, who likes to sing to her while cradling her and rubbing her tummy, has this to say: “Dorothy is a happy, friendly little dog. She is pleasant to have around. She is pretty quiet and loyal. She is an easy foster and will make an excellent companion for someone looking for a special friend.”
If you think you could be that special friend for Dorothy, then please fill out an application to adopt! Just be prepared to travel—Dorothy is busy getting belly rubs in the merry old land of Oz (and by that we mean Pennsylvania) and will not be shipped.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
