“Frankenstein, aka Frankie, is super sweet and just needs time to adjust. He does best on a regular schedule and is okay in his crate but my hope for him is to eventually have free rein or an area in the home if he needs to be left for a while. I think he has been carried around a lot which is why he does not do stairs well. When he was surrendered to the rescue it was my impression he was bounced around a bit so he just needs to find his final family who will give him the love, time and patience he deserves.”

Story
This Frankenstein may not have created an infamous green monster in his basement lab, but he’s sure to bring joy and happiness to life for some lucky family. Frankie was surrendered when his former owner didn’t have enough time to devote to a young pup, but he’s ready to move onwards and upwards. So continue reading to see if you might be the right fit for this little scientist (basement lab optional).
Considering he is only 1.5 years old, Frankenstein is fairly low energy. He’d rather be chilling at home on the couch than running a marathon (disclaimer: no Frenchie should be allowed to run an actual marathon even if they have the entry fee). He’s fine with going for a short walk or romping around the yard and then crashing the rest of the day. He doesn’t live with any other dogs and hasn’t much interaction outside of the home. He does have a canine next-door neighbor who seems to love him, but since he’s not looking for a canine bride, he keeps his distance.
While Frankie doesn’t really play with toys, he does like to nibble on human fingers and toes. Due to his playful, but sometimes unbridled mouthiness, kids in the household should be 12 years or older and dog savvy. This behavior could also be improved with some training. If your house has a lot of stairs, Frankenstein may hide your application. He’s not a huge fan but seems to be quite comfortable being carried around so a few stairs aren’t a dealbreaker.
Since house training is a work in progress, Frankie needs to be on a regular schedule. He may be able to acclimate to an office environment. If you come home from work for lunch to let him out for a break, hopefully your boss is flexible because dear Frankie cannot be rushed. His new family should just be patient with him and understanding of any accidents he will have as he adjusts to a new home.
His foster has this to say about this precious little nugget, “Frankenstein, aka Frankie, is super sweet and just needs time to adjust.
Frankenstein loves the car, so distance isn’t an issue for his adopter as long as they’re ready to come to him. He is ready to read through all the applications and choose his new family so get typing and submitting. You’ll be glad you did!
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. Simone does do well in the cart and would be content cruising to her new home in her crate.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations and we do not set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
