Great news! Gunther loves other dogs and children. When he goes out on walks with foster mom, he tends to gravitate toward children. While there are no children living in his foster home, Gunther has been around children from 2 years to teenagers and he’s done well with all. Due to his size and strength it is best if his forever home has children that he cannot easily knock over. Gunther seems to miss being around children or at the very least his misses all the snack food being dropped on the floor!

Gunther does great with other dogs. His Frenchie foster sister likes to boss him around, but he doesn’t react to that and loves to play tug with her. Gunther has met dogs on his walks and to the park and has gotten along well with them all. Although, he seems to pay more attention to the people or the snacks they might have! Gunther has never been around cats, so it is unknown how he would get on with them.

Gunther is a happy camper. He doesn’t have a care in the world and loves everything. He loves to play tug of war, go on adventures, cuddle, explore, and eat. He loves his adventures so much, that he typically is the first to be waiting at the car in the morning so he doesn’t accidentally get left at home!

For the most part, he loves to be around his humans, but if he deems what you are doing to be “boring” he is perfectly content to find his own thing to do. You should plan to check the couch cushions before sitting down, as Gunther loves to wedge himself between them to nap. If he is out exploring and he doesn’t think it’s time to come in when you call him, he shows you his selective hearing abilities.

The ideal home for Gunther would be one with children. He is used to the hustle and bustle and would love to have children to play with and chase. He will help the kiddos eat their snacks and happily cuddle with them. Gunther does not like to be separated from his humans and will cry when he is put in his room and knows they are home. A family who would include him in all their activities would be ideal. Gunther is a healthy Frenchie, so first time Frenchie owners would be great. They should, however, understand the health issues that are common in the breed. Since Gunther can be stubborn at times, a confident owner that will redirect him would be a bonus.

Gunther can sometimes be a “flying meatball” zooming around the house and launching himself between the couches. A house with more space and a yard would be an ideal. A fenced yard would be great, since he loves exploring! Gunther is used to being included in all activities and having people around at all times. Gunther should not be left at home for extended hours. He is fine if the family is out running errands or having a date night, but not being left for a full day alone. In his previous home, he had a stay at home mom. His foster mom currently works from home and at times, he will go to the office with foster dad. In the office, Gunther curls up in his bed and naps.
