“While Guy needs a special adopter, he will make such a fun addition to the right home. He’s always down for whatever, whether that means relaxing and vegging out at home, or engaging in some fun activity with you! Although he comes with a little spice, it is totally manageable, and he has a great training foundation under his belt already. With his people, Guy is a funny, sweet, affectionate little dude who will keep you laughing.”

Story
Who doesn’t love a good sequel? If you’re an FBRN regular then you may recognize this handsome brindle fella, Guy. This is take two for Guy after he was adopted by a family who couldn’t quite handle his spice. Since he’s been back with FBRN, he’s been acing it with the trainer and is ready to smash the box office records with experienced applicants and find his happily ever after.
Whether you remember Guy from before or are new to his story, let’s recap a couple important things. 1) Ball is life. He loves playing fetch and doesn’t really have an off switch so you’ll have to set some boundaries unless you’re equipped to play ball with him 24/7. He also enjoys chasing a flirt pole (think giant cat toy but for dogs), which can be a nice alternative to fetch. 2) Guy is incredibly smart. He knows a lot of commands: sit, down, place, heel, come and out (drop it), He actually loves to train and might enjoy a dog sport like barn hunt. He is also house broken and crate trained which makes it easy for working adopters to leave him at home with a midday break.
With great intellect comes great responsibility and Guy, with his super-duper smarts, can push the boundaries. So as with any great action flick, there will be dynamic and exciting sequences. Guy would thrive with an experienced owner who can handle bold personalities and will continue his training to manage any triggers. Guy also comes with some allergies so he will need to continue his Apoquel, medicated baths and fish-based kibble.
If Guy was given a viewer rating, it would be PG-13 because while teenagers might be okay in his new home, younger children are definitely not allowed. And he’d really prefer to be the only main character so if you have other animals already, Guy will have to pass on your audition (application). But it’s not all flirt-pole chases and endless games of fetch. Guy does wind down and enjoys some quality lounge time on the couch.
His foster mom reports that “while Guy needs a special adopter, he will make such a fun addition to the right home.
If you’d like to be in Guy’s continued storyline, send your application and be ready to travel to New Orleans as Guy is too big to fly. Mardi Gras may be long over but having Guy in your life will be reason to celebrate all year long.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster
family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
