“Hambone really is a super likable and loving guy. He loves to play; he loves to cuddle on the couch at night and he loves to go get exercise. He would be an amazing dog for someone who wants the Frenchie personality and traits in a healthy/active body. He is not the dog for a couch potato. He needs exercise.”

Story
Looking for an utterly unique Frenchie to be your one and only pet? Look no further – meet Hambone! He is young, healthy, and likes to exercise – when have you heard that about a Frenchie? Hambone is also absolutely gorgeous!
Hambone came to FBRN because he was resource guarding and picking fights with his previous canine siblings. His previous family has small children and felt it would be safest for everyone involved if Hambone could be an only dog. His foster mom has confirmed that Hammy does not want to share his humans with any other fur-siblings, but he’s glad to cuddle with the human family members.
Hambone is completely healthy, eats every meal like it is his last, and exhibits none of the typical Frenchie health issues. His activity level is much higher than the average Frenchie and he is able to go on loooong walks/runs with his foster mom every day. Hambone has also been known to leap from one piece of furniture to another as he hurdles around the house like he’s training for American Ninja Warrior! Hambone is very toy-oriented and runs to grab a toy as soon as he wakes up each morning. He is a champion when it comes to destuffing plushies and also enjoys entertaining himself with antlers and Nylabones.
Hammy likes being close to his humans, but doesn’t exhibit separation anxiety. When his person is busy working on the computer, he will cuddle up silently and wait. When left alone, he will simply curl up in his dog bed and take a nap while waiting for your return. Hambone is potty trained, sleeps in his crate at night, and even knows a few basic commands.
We think Hambone would do best in a house with a yard, but it’s most important that he has a strong leader who will set clear boundaries for him. Someone who can give additional training to keep Hammy mentally stimulated would be amazing! Hambone’s exuberance makes him a negative around small children, and his forever home will need to be free of other pets as well as small children.
Hambone’s foster mom says, “Hambone really is a super likable and loving guy. He loves to play; he loves to cuddle on the couch at night and he loves to go get exercise. He would be an amazing dog for someone who wants the Frenchie personality and traits in a healthy/active body. He is not the dog for a couch potato. He needs exercise.”
If you think Hammy is the perfect one-and-only pet for you, please submit your application and start planning a trip to winter wonderland Colorado! FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations and we do not set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
