“Hangar is an absolute lover, a chill big boy who loves his snuggles and his couch time. He’s a kisser and thanks to the sardines we’ve been garnishing his food with, we have been calling them the ‘sardine kisses.’ Be ready to share your bed as this bubba loves to spoon!”

Story
Do you have a soft spot for the big boys? And by big, we mean BIG. Like 35 pounds of smoosh-nosed, wrinkle-faced, bat-eared love…perhaps a little too big for a lap dog, but that won’t stop him from trying. If you answered yes, then we’ve got just the dog for you. Everyone, give it up for Hangar!
Sweet Hangar arrived into FBRN care after change in his former family’s personal circumstances left them unable to provide Hangar with the attention he craves. On top of that, Hangar’s doggie BFF had recently passed away, and Hangar was desperately lonely without another pup around the house. Hangar’s former owners lovingly and tearfully surrendered him to FBRN; in the hopes that we could find him a home where he can get all the attention he craves plus a new canine bestie. Mission accepted!
Hangar is best described as a love-loaf. He wants to be near his people at all times, whether sunning in the yard or spooning on the couch. While snuggling and snoozing are his activities of choice, Hangar is always up for an outing with the family (especially if it involves a car ride!) and he loves people of all shapes, sizes, and ages.
Health-wise, Hangar suffers from those dreaded Frenchie allergies. He needs monthly Cytopoint injections to keep the itchies at bay, plus he’s allergic to a number of animal proteins and must be kept on a special, limited-ingredient diet. Hangar also has dry eye, which requires twice daily drops in those big beautiful browns. Finally, Hangar has stenotic nares (the medical term for “a really really squashed face”), which means his breathing will become labored if he gets too hot or exhausted. It also means that you can hear him snoring from every room in the house, but hey, that’s the bulldog life!
The perfect home for Hangar is one where he can be around his people as much as possible, whether that’s at home or on adventures near and far. Hangar cannot be crated, but he is fine being left to his own devices for short periods of time—just know that you’ll probably find him asleep on the couch (or on your pillow) when you return home. Hangar would also love another dog in the house to keep him company. Keep in mind that slow and careful introductions are an absolute must, especially because Hangar is occasionally unpredictable with those of the canine persuasion. At home, he is submissive, but on leash he’s been known to get overexcited and even nippy (toward his canine foster siblings, not his people) when he sees another leashed pup.
Hangar’s foster mom is understandably smitten with this massive chunk of Frenchie love, and tells us: “Hangar is an absolute lover, a chill big boy who loves his snuggles and his couch time. He’s a kisser and thanks to the sardines we’ve been garnishing his food with, we have been calling them the ‘sardine kisses.’ Be ready to share your bed as this bubba loves to spoon!”
If you’ve got a Hangar-shaped hole in your life and think he’d be the perfect addition to your household, then please fill out an application to adopt. Just be prepared to travel – Hangar is snuggling and snoring in sunny Florida, and will not be shipped…and he is definitely too big to fly in cabin!
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
