Story Hiro
Let’s all give big congratulations to Foster Hiro! He has made his way to the available page and can’t wait to find his forever family. Hiro is a very sweet little boy who doesn’t let his medical issues get in the way of having a good time. He is living in Florida and loves to chase the lizards outside. Foster mom describes him as very adaptable and a very sweet addition to her family. He loves extreme chew toys and the squeakier the stuffy, the better!
Hiro has been diagnosed with IBD and has a history of GI sensitivities. Due to this condition, Hiro is sometimes unable to control his bowels. He has an extremely restrictive diet and is not able to eat anything other than his food. Because he can’t have anything other than his food, Hiro really enjoys chewing on his toys.
Hiro’s ideal family would include experienced dog parents, but not necessarily experienced Frenchie parents. Due to his medical conditions, Hiro needs a family who will be patient with him and his needs. His forever family should have the financial resources to handle any medical emergencies should he experience a relapse. Hiro currently lives with a human foster sibling and does well in that environment. He likes other dogs and has enjoyed playing with the neighbor’s dog while in foster care. Hiro would prefer a family with someone who is home with him most of the time. For those that work or need to be away for more than about 4 hours at a time, Hiro would need a trusted friend or dog-walker to let him out. He does well in the car and with new environments, so we think Hiro would make a great office dog!
Foster mom has nothing but great things to share about Hiro, “Sweet and extremely lovable this rough coated, green eyed, brownie brindle will STEAL YOUR HEART. Hiro and I have spent hundreds of hours together since mid-May. All hours of the day and night. I have repeatedly said he is the happiest sick dog I have ever met. His G.I. diagnosis and struggles with Giardia have been extremely time consuming and hard on his body yet he has never complained ever…He is a baby gentleman in every aspect. He has no idea that he only weighs 23 pounds… to him the world is his oyster and he is curious about discovering it. He gained the nickname George because of his curiosity. Playful with any toy that squeaks he is forever up for the challenge of fetching!”
If your family sounds like the perfect fit for Hiro, please submit your application and tell us why. Hiro cannot wait to meet his forever family! Be ready to travel because FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
