Story
At just six months old, Juno is very much a typical puppy and busy little bee! She loves playing with other dogs, wrestling and zooming around, and chasing balls. Note, we did not say she plays actual “fetch.” Her main obsession is her soccer ball, which she wants you to kick so she can run after it. Once she catches it, she loves to tear the covering off of it, piece by piece, and then she likes to carry it around to keep you from retrieving it. She then brings it with her to the doggy pool so she can cool off without having to be away from her precious ball. It’s her own fun little game that she’s thinking of trademarking in the future.
Juno does have allergies, which led to her ear infection. She will need to remain on monthly Cytopoint injections to manage those allergies. Her new family will also need to be diligent about looking out for any signs and symptoms of recurrent ear infections in the future. Otherwise, Juno is a happy and healthy puppy who will need continued structure and boundaries so she doesn’t get away with everything based on her cute looks and puppy-dog eyes. We know it’s hard, but raising a well-adjusted canine citizen is important.
She loves laying in the yard so a fenced area, with a doggy pool for her and her soccer ball of course, is preferred for sunbathing and containing all her puppy antics. She is a fit and active dog who would probably love to have a playful doggy sibling, and while she hasn’t lived with kids, foster mom thinks they would get along just fine. If you live in an apartment, be forewarned, Juno can be a bit of a watchdog and isn’t afraid to alert your close neighbors to any possible perceived threats.
If your job takes you out of the house, Juno will need a couple breaks for potty and playtime. She will go to the door when she needs to go out, but still has an accident here and there so applicants should be prepared for some regression as she acclimates to her new family and routine. When foster mom has left her alone for a few hours, Juno has been a perfectly mannered lady, pretty much sleeping and not getting into any mischief. Ideally, because she’s still a young, impressionable puppy, it would be nice to have companionship during the day. She could also be trained to be an office dog, if you are so inclined. However, without structure and guidance, she would probably go to each and every coworker demanding attention. And while most people wouldn’t mind (us!), we’re not sure if your boss would appreciate that all day, every day. Just let us know in your application what your plans are to ensure Juno gets the appropriate enrichment and mental and physical stimulation every young pup needs.
Juno’s foster mom knows Juno won’t have any issues with getting applications but if anyone needs a bit more convincing, she says, “Juno is just a typical happy puppy! She loves playing, playing, eating and playing! She’s entering her mischievous teenage years, but she’s a very good girl and will make a wonderful companion.”
Juno is small enough that she could fit under the seat in the cabin of a plane, but she also wouldn’t mind taking a road trip if you’d rather drive to Virginia. Just make sure you have enough room for a new soccer ball or two and you’re sure to be in her good graces immediately. She looks forward to many, many games of chase and keep away.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
