“Karly is a very sociable and loveable dog. She is well mannered and smart. When with her people, Karly is a very quiet and mature little Frenchie overall. When separated from her people in the house, she is not happy [and presumably not quiet or mature in that moment]. She is a petite girl with the cutest little legs and paws. She deserves to be in a house where she is the focus of attention since she has so much to give.”

Story
Let’s roll out the red carpet for our very own Karly with a K. This not-quite-6-year-old pied beauty is making her debut onto the available page after graduating from FBRN foster care. Her previous family was growing and they decided it was better for Karly to find someone who could give her the attention she desires and deserves. Her search starts now!
When first entering her foster home, Karly was a bit of a frustrated, unhappy camper but, after some adjustment time, this girl has transformed. She is now a happy, little mischievous munchkin who absolutely loves her people. And by people, we mean adults. Not only does she like to guard and protect her favorite toys, but she also doesn’t want to compete with little humans for her time and attention. The same goes for furry companions as well. If you already have a dog in your household, Karly prefers a canine companion to be older, mature and laid back. She may be little but she is also mighty and won’t back down from a challenge. Due to her history of resource guarding, an only-dog home may be the easiest and best fit. However, if the right applicant does have another dog, they must be willing to do slow intros and carefully monitor canine interactions, especially during feeding and when toys are present. And speaking of toys, it’s a safe bet she’ll like anything stuffed that squeaks (no cats or other small animals please).
Karly does have some allergies and past ear infections that must be monitored for recurrence. She has been on a few supplements while in foster care to help with her skin health. She has sensitive skin so her foster family regularly uses wipes and wrinkle balm around her eyes and ears to keep the areas clean. You’ll know Karly is anxious if she starts incessantly licking her paws. So, if you are a potential adopter with previous Frenchie allergy and attitude experience, expect your application to make its way to the top of the stack. Tell us how you’re home most of the time and have a fenced yard in which Karly can run and burn off her abundant energy, and you might be first in line. If for some reason you have had to return to the office and can’t be home all day catering to Karly’s affinity for affection, perhaps your office allows friendly Frenchies to wander the hallways and receive pets from all your coworkers. We don’t think Karly would mind accompanying you to work as long it’s a kid-free zone and she’s the only pup.
Karly’s foster has enjoyed their time with her saying, “Karly is a very sociable and loveable dog.
Karly would not do well on an airplane flight and she is quite nervous in the car but has improved while in foster care. So if you’re obsessed with all things “K” and apply for Karly to be a part of your family, plan on a road trip to the Southeast Texas. In thanks, she likely won’t share her favorite blue toy with you, but will share her time and attention in abundance.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
About Karly
Karly has several allergies and must remain on food which does not contain any of the allergens listed in her report.
Karly has a history of ear infections that must be monitored for recurrence.
Karly is a resource guarder so must never be around small children and would do better as an only dog. She must be monitored during feeding and when toys are present. A slow intro is required if there are other dogs in the home. She should go to a home with no cats or other small animals.
