“Kate has a face that is so sweet, especially when her tongue is hanging out. She loves her baths and just being close to her owner. Kate can go on short walks as she tires easily because of her back legs being kind of wobbly. She is just a love and everyone who meets her just has to give her some puppy love.”

Story
Do you find yourself looking for a nice girl this holiday season? Well, Kate has made her way to the available page just in time! This sweet, honey-pied girl is 11 years old and she’s ready to find her forever person. Kate found herself in FBRN care after an unfortunate incident where she and a small child were in hot pursuit of a frog. The frog seems to have gotten away just fine, but Kate accidentally nipped the child, and it was agreed that she would be rehomed for everyone’s safety.
Although Kate has a number of health issues – hypothyroidism, hearing impairment, allergies, dry eye, and limited hind end mobility – she would never let anything hold her back! Kate clearly doesn’t know she’s considered a senior dog. She loves to play! Kate will take time out to wrestle with her foster sister, but she really loves toys she can easily shred up, such as paper and cotton. She might have a hobby creating confetti for you if you find yourself in need. Kate is also a fan of smaller stuffies that she can lob through the air. She also loves to chew, and her forever home should be prepared with a few different Nylabones for her to choose from. Kate’s cutest trait is that she loves her blankets, and must adjust them so they are perfectly to her liking, creating the ideal spot to rest in.
Kate is house trained and has had no accidents in her foster home. She will get in an open crate to rest for a bit, but she’s not been locked in the crate. Since she can’t hear well, Kate’s foster mom has used hand gestures and Kate seems to have picked those up very well. She hasn’t met another dog that she didn’t make friends with and we think she would enjoy having another dog in her forever home. Older children who are dog savvy would also be great pals for Kate!
This girl is looking for a forever home where she can enjoy being home with her people and cuddling up with them! Condo life would be fine, but Kate likes to go outside to explore, and for this a fenced yard is ideal. A stay at home person would be fantastic, but Kate does fine left home alone with a mid-day break. Kate has also gone to work with her foster mom and done great!
Kate’s foster mom had this to say about her: “Kate has a face that is so sweet, especially when her tongue is hanging out. She loves her baths and just being close to her owner. Kate can go on short walks as she tires easily because of her back legs being kind of wobbly. She is just a love and everyone who meets her just has to give her some puppy love.”
If you think that you have the perfect home for Kate, then wait no longer and apply to adopt her today. After that, all you need to do is be ready to pick her up if you are selected as her forever home. Kate loves car rides and would be happy to take a road trip. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
If I pull a blanket out to put on bed she thinks it is playtime and will nip at fingers. If she thinks there is food on floor beer me or if | move my feet to fast when she is following me she will get my toes.
