“Liam is such a love and little clown. He has loved everyone- kids, dogs, cats – that he has met at our house. He has gotten much stronger over the past 5 months at our house with very few steps. His allergies and digestive issues have all been figured out and he is a very happy playful young boy.”
Liam has IVDD, so he must always be carried up and down stairs and must not be allowed to jump on or off the furniture.
Liam has several allergies and must remain on current diet, Nature’s Farmacy supplements, Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet supplements, regular Cytopoint shots, and have regular medicated baths
Liam has a history of eye ulcers brought on by distichia (eyelash abnormality) that must be monitored for recurrence.
He’s silly, handsome and now available for adoption! Four-year-old Liam found his way into FBRN’s care after being diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease, or IVDD. Living in a third-floor walkup proved to be too much of a challenge for Liam and his previous family.
Liam’s mobility has improved as he’s gained muscle, but his hind legs still wobble. His forever family should have knowledge of IVDD and understand the potential for recurrence of symptoms or worsening of neurological function in the future. Liam has some allergies and digestive issues that are kept in check with regular Cytopoint shots and a special diet. He also takes probiotics and vitamin E to help keep him in tip-top shape and his forever family should continue this regimen.
When it comes to activity, Liam is known to do a zoomie or two in the backyard! He’s also happy to go for a short walk before heading to the couch for cuddles. Liam loves to play fetch with toys, especially squeaky ones! Liam gets along great with everyone – children, dogs, and cats! He’s been known to steal toys and bones from the resident lab who will issue a warning growl to let Liam know his antics are not appreciated. Liam is respectful and will back off, but once the lab isn’t looking, Liam is ready to swipe whatever it is away!
Ideally Liam’s forever home will have a fenced-in yard and very few steps. If there are steps, Liam would need a ramp or he would simply need to be carried. A family with children and other pets would also be ideal for this playful frog. Liam’s foster mom works part-time, which seems to work well for his schedule and potty breaks. Liam is crate trained and housebroken, but if his schedule is thrown off or if someone doesn’t see him go to the backdoor, he will have an accident in the house. Liam doesn’t like being alone for too long and may let you know by ripping up a toy or magazine. That being said, Liam would be more than happy to lend a paw in the office. Foster mom says he’d be a wonderful greeter and will gladly be a reference for him to get the job!
Like his namesake Liam Neeson, this boy hopes your heart will be “taken” by all of his charm! His foster mom tells us, “Liam is such a love and little clown. He has loved everyone- kids, dogs, cats – that he has met at our house. He has gotten much stronger over the past 5 months at our house with very few steps. His allergies and digestive issues have all been figured out and he is a very happy playful young boy.”
If Liam sounds like a fit for your home, send over an application! Then get ready for a road trip because Liam is lounging in central Connecticut and will not be shipped. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.

For Liam. More to come buddy, keep getting stronger.
Liam, here’s a little something to add to your toy collection.
In loving memory of my beloved Louis. He too lived with impaired mobility after his back surgery for IVDD but thrived and was much loved. I hope Liam has the opportunity to thrive and be loved in his forever home. We’ll be keeping an eye on the available board for you!
Lots of Love to Liam from Oso and Matt in San Diego!!
