“Liesel quickly shows you her love. She has the sweetest little tail (YES A TAIL!!!) that wags when she’s happy to see you. She’s still learning how to be a confident but once she conquers that – look out world! All dogs deserve a loving home but there’s something super special about seeing a pup that came from some very rough conditions without a lot of good things, really begin to thrive in life. She has been a fantastic foster and I can’t wait to see her truly come into her own with her very own family. Leisel is a Grade-A snuggler and will make a wonderful addition to someone’s family.”

Story
Liesel is described as the epitome of joy! She bounds when she runs throughout the fenced yard in her foster home and is a happy dog who loves everyone she meets. Liesel sometimes still pancakes and may nervously pee when someone rushes towards her, or moves too quickly in her direction, but this behavior should improve with time. She gets along famously with other dogs, and having a dog friend in her forever home would help provide security as she continues to learn how to be a pet.
Most days, Liesel’s main goal is to be in your lap! If she’s not in someone’s lap, she is usually found snuggling with her foster fur sibling. Liesel also loves a good stuffie and will grant bonus points to her forever family for allowing her to frequently sunbathe with her favorite chew bone!
Liesel is crate trained, and mostly potty trained. She does well when kept on a schedule but still has occasional pee accidents in her foster home. Her forever person should be patient and have a flexible schedule (or a good dog walker) that allows for frequent potty breaks while she settles into the new routine.
She is very adaptable and should adjust well to just about any environment. A home with a fenced yard is preferred since Liesel is still learning, and it can take her a while to find the right spot! But Liesel is adaptable, and a patient apartment dweller who doesn’t mind walking Liesel on a leash multiple times each day could also work. Liesel would make an excellent office companion but she’s still pretty young and might need a bit more training to keep the boss happy!
Here’s a few words from Liesel’s loving foster mom, “Liesel quickly shows you her love. She has the sweetest little tail (YES A TAIL!!!) that wags when she’s happy to see you. She’s still learning how to be a confident but once she conquers that – look out world! If Liesel sounds like the Frenchie you’ve been searching for, then send in an application and tell us more! Then get prepared for a road trip to Delaware because Liesel is just too darn big to fly. However, she enjoys road trips as long as she’s in a booster seat or otherwise able to see out of the car!
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
