It’s true, everyone’s favorite Poké-puppy has made it to the FBRN available page! Read on to find out whether you might be a perfect match for our freckly baby Lillipup.

Lillipup was tearfully surrendered to FBRN after her original owner developed health problems and could no longer care for an active puppy. And when we say active, we’re not kidding – at just 17 months old, Lillipup is full of beans and then some! That said, her energy tends to come in spurts, and once she’s tired out, she’ll happily snooze at your feet for hours on end. Lillipup is always down for a nice chew toy (antlers are a particular favorite), and she has mastered the art of leaning on people to get their attention, then rolling onto her back for a belly rub. Ever the SoCal girl, Lillipup also enjoys car rides, beach trips, kayaking, and foster mom has started to teach her how to ride a skateboard!

Foster mom describes Lillipup as, “a follower, a happy camper, submissive, a pleaser, and fast learner.” Our Poké-pup has never met a person she doesn’t like, and that goes for dogs, too! The only problem is that that her insatiable love for people makes her greetings a little, shall we say, exuberant. Lillipup is trying hard to remember that leaping on people doesn’t make the best first impression, but sometimes (well, a lot of the time) she forgets. Fortunately, she’s a smart cookie who we expect will get the hang of it with a little more training. Lillipup already know her basic commands, and is housebroken and crate-trained. What a star!

Lillipup’s biggest challenge is her terribly itchy skin. Poor girl is allergic to almost everything under the sun, including grass, weeds, a whole heap of different trees, corn, soy, pumpkin, peas, rice…the list goes on. Her allergies are controlled by a strict, limited-ingredient diet (sorry sweetie, no table scraps allowed), along with daily Apoquel and dietary supplements, weekly medicated baths and ear flushes, monthly Cytopoint shots, and KetoHex wipes after every walk. Whew! We know it’s a lot, but Lillipup’s future family must be committed to this routine, both in terms of time and expense.

The perfect home for Lillipup is one where she can be loved and pampered like the pied princess that she is. A house or apartment is fine, and an artificial lawn where she could romp to her heart’s content would be particularly nice. Lillipup would love having a canine companion or two, though she’d also be happy to be the single apple of her owner’s eye, so long as there’s attention and belly rubs a-plenty. And kids suit Lillipup just fine, though they’ll need to be a bit older so that Lillipup doesn’t send them flying with her leaping hellos. Cats and small animals, on the other hand, would do best to keep their distance from Lillipup. It’s not that she doesn’t like them, it’s that she likes them too much…or more accurately, likes to chase them. We’re not sure what she’d do if she ever actually caught one of those neighborhood squirrels, but it’s probably best for everyone involved that we don’t find out.

Lilipup’s foster mom is understandably smitten with this sweet girl, and tells us, “The ‘Pokémon Puppy’ Lillipup has been such a joy to foster. She truly loves all people and dogs. She’s a quick learner, a pleaser, and desires to be with her humans, so I can see her learning new activities, and joining on adventures with her Forever Family.”
