“Limbertwig came to us and didn’t feel [great]. If you have ever had an earache, it is one of the worst pains (third to hard labor and kidney stones) and this little guy had two severe ear infections – so bad that his balance was off and he had a goofy head wobble every time he came upon a flight of stairs. He couldn’t navigate them. It took a couple of months for the swelling to go down before the vet could even see inside his inner ear. And yet, this sweet gentleman came into our lives, and began to immediately trust my son, never letting him out of his sight. During transport, Limbertwig rode for 3 hours alone in the back of an SUV – his longest car ride ever. When my son saw this, he decided that wasn’t quite right. So, on the way back home, he rode in the back seat with Limbertwig snuggled in his arms. That act of kindness when Limbertwig was so vulnerable cemented trust in that big heart of his. That is what amazes me about these wonderful dogs. They can be at their worst: in pain, in panic, fearing for their lives, horribly abused…and a human will come along and show them the smallest act of kindness, and they come back to life and are your best friend forever. Resilient and tough, yet so tender-hearted and sweet. That is why I want the very best for Limbertwig, because of his big, trusting heart.”

Story
Seinfeld fans everywhere rejoice, Limbertwig has made his way to the available page! This five-year-old black masked Frenchie landed in our care after there was a change in his family’s living situation. His surrendering owner decided to do what was best for him and surrender him to FBRN so he could find a home that could offer him all the cuddles his little heart desires.
Since landing with his foster family, Limbertwig has been working on house training and he sleeps in his crate every night. Did we mention this boy loves to be adored? He will knock the laptop off of your lap if it impedes his path to cuddle with you! Limbertwig seems particularly fond of human men and female dogs. He is very playful and likes to rough-house, so a larger breed with a docile attitude would be the perfect companion. He is a lot more active than a typical Frenchie and would happily go on 2-3 walks a day if taken! He also loves his snuffle mat, sitting in the sun, and chewing on bones. Due to past severe ear infections, Limbertwig has a slight tilt in his head that makes it difficult to walk up and down stairs. Therefore, having fewer staircases to manage would be best for him!
Limbertwig would also love to have someone who works from home (he gets a little upset when he hasn’t had attention from his human in awhile.) He would do well with any family situation except with very small children. Because of his high prey drive, a home without cats or other small animals is best.
Lastly, Limbertwig’s foster mom says, “Limbertwig came to us and didn’t feel [great]. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
