“This boy is the sweetest boy!!! He has a great smile to go along with a big Frenchie body. He is super well-behaved and a joy to have in our home. He came right in and adjusted well and soon became just like another member of the family. He can be very silly doing a little rollover as part of his zoomies outside. The more we laugh the more he does it. He loves my dogs but also respects our 14 year old Frenchie who sits in the matriarch seat. He’s just a great boy and deserves a wonderful loving home where he will treated as the wonderful boy he is.”

Story
Lou came to FBRN thanks to the kindness of a Good Samaritan who saw him being given away in a Nextdoor post. This lovely person claimed Lou, and then surrendered him to FBRN so he could get the care he needed. And there was definitely some work to be done, as Lou arrived with filthy ears, itchy skin, and an icky case of hookworms. Fortunately, a few spa days and deworming treatments, along with some nutritious food, put the pep back in his step and the light back in his eyes. After a quiet first few days, foster mom was delighted to discover that Lou is not immune from a good case of the zoomies, followed by a good roll on the rug. He also loves playing with his stuffies, often tossing them in the air for a little game of one-dog fetch.
These days, foster mom describes Lou as an absolute delight. In typical Frenchie fashion, he seesaws between relaxed, laid-back loafer and playful clown. He prefers to have his humans close by, and if he can join you on the couch then all the better! And while he arrived in foster care with the propensity to spring the occasional leak, a neuter and some housetraining from his foster mom has completely solved those plumbing issues. Lou is crate-trained, leash-trained, and a doll to every person he meets (including foster mom’s seven grandchildren!)
Health-wise, Lou has made a full recovery from just about all his ailments, save one – a low grade heart murmur. At present, Lou is completely asymptomatic and his prognosis is excellent; however, it is essential that his condition be monitored, and that his new family takes him to the vet for regular check-ups.
The perfect home for Lou is one where he can soak up all the love and attention his humans have to offer. A fenced yard for his zoomies would be fantastic, as would a person who works from home or is otherwise around for most of the day. Lou loves other dogs and would love to share his new digs with some fellow canines, but care must be taken with high value toys and treats, as he can get a little snippy about sharing. For this reason, any children in the household should be older and dog-savvy, and we have to say no to kitties or other small pets.
Lou’s foster mom is over the moon with him, and tells us: “This boy is the sweetest boy!!! He has a great smile to go along with a big Frenchie body. He is super well-behaved and a joy to have in our home. He came right in and adjusted well and soon became just like another member of the family. He can be very silly doing a little rollover as part of his zoomies outside. The more we laugh the more he does it. Sounds like a lulu of a dog, if you ask us! If you think Lou would be the perfect match for your household, please fill out an application to adopt and tell us why. Just be prepared to travel, as Lou is breaking hearts in the great state of Texas and will not be shipped.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
