“Malibu has been one of the easiest fosters we have ever had. Such a fun and playful little lady! She seems to be able to adapt to any environment. When she is out and about people go crazy over her cute little bootie wiggle. This Barbie Beauty should be in a home where she can get all the love and attention she deserves!”

Story
Our pretty girl Malibu is on the hunt for her Dream House! But don’t worry—she doesn’t need mid-century modern in shades of pink. So long as she’s surrounded by love, attention, and belly rubs a-plenty, every day will be a great day for our black-masked beauty!
Malibu came to FBRN after she was picked up as a stray and no one came forward to claim her. She was suffering from a terrible case of demodex mange, which left her largely hairless and with itchy, inflamed skin. Fortunately, with a treatment regimen of Ivermectin and medicated baths, Malibu is feeling much better, and her lovey brindle coat is growing back in, shiny and soft.
After some initial timidity and confusion (what is this “leash” thing?) Malibu has revealed herself to be a happy, energetic pup. She loves romping about with her foster siblings and adores humans of all ages, including foster mom’s 3-year-old granddaughter. At a recent fundraising event, she play-bowed to every dog she met, and has shown zero resource guarding or aggression. When she’s not playing, Malibu can usually be found gnawing on a bone, basking in a sunbeam, or enjoying a snuggle with her people.
Training-wise, we are happy to report that Malibu is just about housebroken, although foster mom still leaves out some pee pads just in case. She’s also made great strides in walking on a leash. Continued training through positive reinforcement (and even an obedience class) would be a great benefit for Malibu, not to mention a wonderful way for her to bond with her new people.
The ideal living situation for Malibu is…well, just about anywhere! She would be happy in any type of household, so long as she gets plenty of attention and opportunities to play and socialize. Her friendly demeanor would make her a great take-to-work dog, though she’d be equally content to hang out around the house all day. She’s a go-with-the-flow, happy-go-lucky girl who just wants to be with her people.

If you think you can give sweet Malibu the best day ever, yesterday and tomorrow and every day from now until forever, then fill out an application and tell us why! Just be prepared to travel—Malibu is (fittingly) sunning her buns in Southern California, and will not be shipped.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
