Marvin

“We have shown him lots of love, tried to teach him some sign language, and gotten him 98% housebroken. He enjoys not being crated during the day and sleeps by my husband at night. He is adorable and reciprocates being loved. I think he will be a good dog for just about anyone. If you need a friend while cleaning the kitchen, he’ll hang by stretched out in the frog position and nap. A couple of times he has dug in the red dirt under a bush which made him look like a little pig, but luckily he enjoys a bath.”
If you’re looking for a mellow, happy Frenchie to be a foot warmer, cuddle buddy, and all-around BFF, then you couldn’t do much better than Marvin. And guess what—he’s made his way to the Available Page! Marvin was surrendered to FBRN when his previous owner didn’t have enough time to devote to him, and now he’s ready for a forever home where he can get all the love he deserves.
Marvin is deaf, but that doesn’t stop him from being a loyal companion with lots of love to give. He is a cuddle-bug of the highest order, and wants nothing more than to be with his people all the time. Marvin gets along with people and dogs of all shapes and sizes, and is a mellow, happy camper who just kind of goes with the flow. “It’s alllll good”, says Marvin, as he rolls over for a belly rub.
Since Marvin is deaf, his new family will need to take some extra precautions to keep him safe. Because he can’t hear you calling his name, he can’t go off-leash in unfenced areas, and he relies on hand signals and body language for communication. His foster family is teaching him sign language, and his new owners should definitely keep that up. And while Marvin is a pretty laid-back, cool customer, it’s still important to avoid startling him.
Marvin would be pleased as punch to live in any residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse or doghouse (okay, maybe not those last ones) so long as he is surrounded with love and attention. He’d love some canine companions to play with, and dog-savvy kids are great too! Marvin is crate-trained and housebroken (with the occasional oopsie here and there), so he’s okay with being left alone for short periods of time, but he truly is happiest when he’s around his people.
Marvin’s foster mom is absolutely smitten with this sweet boy and tells us, “We have shown him lots of love, tried to teach him some sign language, and gotten him 98% housebroken.
If you think that Marvin is the cream to your coffee, the rice to your beans, or any other fitting metaphor, then please fill out an application to adopt! Just be prepared to travel—Marvin is loafing about and melting hearts in Oklahoma, and will not be shipped. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
