“Melba is truly the most laid back and loveable lady. She is happiest when she is snuggling up to her humans and snoring away in the sun! She loves treats and loves to go anywhere with her humans. She will even tap dance when she gets extra excited!! Miss Melba is an older lady and deserves the perfect home to be hers forever in her older age. Anyone would be so lucky to have her as an addition to the family!”

Story
“Sweet” may not be the first word that comes up when you hear the word Melba, but our Melba is the epitome of sweet. She loves kids, having been around kids from 8 to 14 years old while in foster care. She also lives with two resident dogs and has no issues. Melba has no cat experience, so we can’t recommend her as a triple threat (cats, kids and dogs) but her snuggle skills make up for that. She is more on the submissive, or shall we say sweeter side, but she will speak her mind if a more strong-willed dog crosses the line. When at the park, she’ll join the pups in a quick run, then find a place to rest in the sun. Sunbathing is one of her favorite pastimes!
When she’s not soaking up the rays, Melba can probably be found lying in a human lap. She also enjoys a leisurely stroll and is an excellent walker going at her own pace. This gal is an easy-going, happy camper. If you’re looking for a super active pup, you should probably swipe left. Melba does not have any of the typical Frenchie health ailments. She does have a growth on her gums which her new family will need to monitor and possibly have surgically removed in the future. She came into foster in diapers, reportedly not at all housebroken, but with a consistent schedule, she has very few accidents in the house nowadays. Her new family should be patient and willing to work through any potty-training regressions she may have in a new environment with a new schedule.
Melba is crate trained and does really well in her crate while foster mom is out of the house. With a midday potty break and snuggle fest, she is content to snooze the day away. She also occasionally accompanies her foster mom to the office and is a perfect sweet angel baby. If you’re lucky enough to have a dog-friendly workplace, Melba could be an amazing coworker. Because she is so easy going and loves dogs and all humans, she could join a first-time Frenchie family or an experienced owner. Apartment or house, fence or no fence, as long as snuggles, love and attention are abundant, Melba will thrive.
After having cared for this darling girl, her foster mom wants everyone to know, “Melba is truly the most laid back and loveable lady.
If you feel you will be able to give Melba the best of the best during her golden years, swipe right (or in other words, submit an application). There is no distance limitation for her new family but you should be willing to travel to Michigan because Melba will not be shipped. We’re sure she’ll show you her excited tippy tap dance once her forever family is chosen.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
