Story
Line up ladies, our most distinguished gentleman, Nasser, has made his way to the available page!
Nasser found his way to FBRN when his previous owner could not provide the time and attention he so deserves. At this point in life, all Nasser wants is to be with his person! A perfect day for Nasser would be going on a little stroll in the morning and then coming back home to be with his person all day! Need to get some work done? Perfect, he’ll lounge right beside you! Feeling more like a couch potato and binging on Netflix? Great, he loves a good snuggle day! Want to stroll through town? Wonderful, he’ll happily stop for pets and will hang out while you dine outside. As long as he is with his human, he is a happy camper.
Nasser would thrive in an environment where he can easily get outside. Nasser loves spending time outdoors, people watching and sunbathing! He is potty trained, but would benefit from an owner that will be patient with him as he adjusts and can help him establish a good bathroom routine. Someone who works from home would be ideal for this little love bug to chill with. He could also be the perfect office dog as he loves everyone and then can be by his new person all day!
Nasser would do well with older children who are dog savvy and respect his boundaries. When first in foster care, Nasser did nip at his foster parents when being placed in his crate. Since then, he has been the perfect gentleman, however. He is now fine in his crate as long as it is in the same room as his person.
Nasser’s foster mom reports, “Nasser is my 12th FBRN Frenchie and I can say with certainty that he is one of the sweetest little guys I have ever had the honor of fostering. My hope for him is that he can find a forever family that can include him in their daily lives and he can feel all the love of being part of a family or a true best friend to a single human. He is a well-behaved dog, really his only issue is that he is not confident at all about being left alone in a crate or in a closed off room. He is great about being in these places if he can see me, but needs a forever human that can continue to grow his confidence. He is incredibly active for his age; he is always the one to initiate play with our dogs. He does great in the dog park and loves to go on walks. Please consider opening up your hearts to this sweet sweet boy and making the next chapter of his life one that is filled with LOVE!”
Nasser received a little help from his foster parents to say, “Hi there! I am looking for a BFF human and I would make the ultimate side-kick doggo. I’m super chill and a very sweet gentleman so you can take me EVERYWHERE with you! My first eight years were OK – and now ALL I really want is a human who wants me to be with them.”
Nasser’s foster family spend time in central OK, so please plan on picking him up at one of these locations (adopter’s choice) if selected. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
About Nasser
Updates on Nasser 01-06-2024 and KNOWN HEALTH PROBLEMS / CONSIDERATIONS:
- Impression was that he was a laid back inactive dog. He is an active dog, but fitting to our household of laid back dogs. I am sure he would enjoy play and walks. Very happy sitting in chair with or without human.
- “loves everyone”. Not sure this is accurate. He is a friendly dog but is guarded in being receptive to new people. He moved a lot, but he has settled very well with us.
- He is not crate trained and hates being crated.
- Foster mother has not taken him on walks or to a dog park.
- Vet says IVDD is not an issue at this time. He runs, jumps, walks and stands ok. Rarely stands like a Geraman Shephard.
KNOWN HEALTH PROBLEMS / CONSIDERATIONS:
Nasser has several allergies and must remain on daily Apoquel and have regular medicated baths and foot wipes after being in grass. He is allergic to cats, so must remain in a home with no cats.
Nasser has a history of hind and back-end weakness, likely a result of IVDD, and should never be allowed to jump on or off furniture. He should also be carried up and down stairs.
Potty training is a work in progress.
Nasser takes Trazodone as needed for separation anxiety.
Nasser has a history of ear infections that should be monitored for recurrence.
