“I really love this little girl and hope she finds her perfect home. I will miss her snuggles and her little head laying on my lap as we binge TV on the weekends. I will also miss her little body sleeping under the covers and keeping me warm at night. She is so fun to be around and watch as she does her zoomies in the yard. I even love when she gives side eye when I am trying to talk to her. She brings joy to everyone when we go out. I will sincerely miss my adorable little shadow.”

Story
Traditional natto is delicious over rice (especially with a little soy sauce and green onion, yum), but our Natto is just plain scrumptious! This darling girl is on the hunt for a very special home—could it be yours?
Natto came to FBRN from a local shelter, where she had been treated for a prolapsed rectum. She was still having GI issues upon her arrival in foster care, and we were concerned that she would need additional surgery. The culprit, as it turns out was birdseed—Natto apparently gobbled down a bunch of it somewhere along the way and it wreaked havoc on her GI tract. Now that it’s out of her system and she’s on a healthy diet (dog food only, please!), Natto’s tummy troubles seem to be a thing of the past.
Natto’s biggest challenge now is her separation anxiety. She really, really, really doesn’t like to be without her people, and is vocal in her unhappiness when she can’t be by her person’s side. Crating and baby gates are another no-no, as Natto can get a little destructive trying to bust down the barrier and track down her people. She currently takes a combination of Prozac, Trazadone, and Gabapentin to help with her anxiety, and her new family will need to continue not only her medication regimen, but her training as well. Separation anxiety is treatable, but it takes a lot of hard work. “But I’m worth it!” says Natto.
Natto is definitely worth it, and then some! You’d be hard pressed to find a dog who is more loyal and loving with her people. She is a Velcro Frenchie of the highest degree who is always up for a snuggle and would prefer to sleep in the human bed, please and thank you. She is friendly with everyone she meets and loves going on outings. Natto doesn’t need a ton of exercise, but would be very happy with a securely fenced yard so she could do her zoomies. She also loves playing with toys, but needs to be monitored so that she doesn’t accidentally swallow anything, particularly given her acumen for disemboweling stuffies.
The ideal home for Natto is one with a loving, dedicated guardian who will be with her most of the day and is dedicated to helping her overcome her separation anxiety. Natto would also love a friendly canine companion, to be both a playmate and a source of comfort when her people are away. Kids are great, too, so long as they’re older and dog-savvy. (Natto has not been tested with cats, so unfortunately we have to say no to kitties). Because Natto can get a little—or a lot—loud when left alone, we don’t recommend that she live in an apartment or townhouse, unless you have soundproofed walls or the world’s most understanding neighbors. And if you wanted to make Natto your office mascot, then go for it—she would love accompanying her person to work.
Natto’s foster mom is absolutely smitten with this sweet girl, and says, “I really love this little girl and hope she finds her perfect home.
If there’s room on your plate for a serving of Natto, then fill out an application and tell us why you’d be a perfect match! Just be prepared to travel—Natto is enjoying the spring flowers in lovely Wisconsin, and will not be shipped.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
