“Onna is a sweetheart. She has come so far and I really want to make sure she goes to the best family. She has Velcro Frenchie syndrome and wants to be with you 24/7. She listens well, is becoming more active since her surgeries and is feeling better. She would be great for an active family or someone who wants a cuddle bug lap dog.”

Story
Are you ONNA mission to find the perfect companion? Look no further! Onna is now ONNAvailable list! This five-year-old pied female is a former breeding momma who was surrendered while experiencing an IVDD flare.
Onna isn’t really a yogi, but “downward dog” was the only comfortable position for this sweetheart when she arrived in FBRN care. Thankfully, she had surgery to address a large disc rupture in her neck and she has made a full recovery. She loves to go for walks around the neighborhood, play with her foster siblings (both human and fur), and ride in the car! What does Onna love the most? Being with her people. She is the quintessential Velcro dog and wants to go where you go. Her motto? “I go where you go.” She would be perfect for someone who works from home or who can take her into the office. She loves people and makes friends wherever she goes. Onna even has experience ONNA boat and loves to cruise around the water (with a life jacket on, of course).
Although this beautiful girl is doing well now, her new owner should be/become familiar with IVDD and how to protect the Frenchie spine to avoid future injuries. No jumping up and down ONNA furniture; no stairs and no WWE or Ultimate Fighter’s matches for this girl. Because of her back history, more mellow furry companions or dogs that are similar in size would be ideal. While she does well with children, she would do best with dog savvy children who understand that her back is delicate. She has not spent any time around cats, so it is unknown how she would handle one in her home.
And for Christmas? She is ONNA Santa’s NICE list! Onna is crate trained, but she will happily stay out of it if given the option. She will go to the back door when she has to potty and is a perfect little lady on a leash. Guaranteed Onna will leave her mark on every heart she touches.
Her foster mom has this to say, “Onna is a sweetheart. She has come so far and I really want to make sure she goes to the best family. She has Velcro Frenchie syndrome and wants to be with you 24/7. She listens well, is becoming more active since her surgeries and is feeling better. She would be great for an active family or someone who wants a cuddle bug lap dog.”

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter’s home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
