Story
Guess who’s the perfect combination of puppy energy and couch potato and ready to be adopted? It’s Raven! If you’ve been looking for a nearly perfect Frenchie puppy, then look no further. Raven is both an active puppy who loves to play with other dogs, yet is also a lap dog…or should we say, lap hog. She isn’t above slowly shoving another dog off one, if they’re on a lap that she wants.
Speaking of other dogs, Raven loves to play with them and needs a fair amount of exercise and activity, so if her humans like to walk or hike she’d be in heaven. She is always up for a good game of tug-of-war and will play without getting mad. Wait, what…a Frenchie who plays tug-of-war without getting stubborn or mad? She’s a Frenchie anomaly! Raven is neither a dominant nor submissive dog and she’s able to read other dogs’ behavior quite well and respond appropriately. What a mature little lady she is, and at less than a year old! She’s a big fan of having other dogs around to chase her, so having a doggy sibling or other canine friends to play with regularly would be ideal. Raven’s non-negotiable is that her forever home has a bottomless budget for toys. She enjoys chewing on harder toys and sometimes stuffies and especially loves things like antlers and hooves. She will play fetch but mostly just chases the toy and has no concept of bringing it back. Whoops!
Raven is still a puppy who is figuring out what this thing called manners is, but she is quite smart so she would likely benefit from some formal training. She’s not a resource guarder in general, but there have been a few times when she’s snapped at another dog to tell them to back off. To be on the safe side, it’s best to always feed her separate from other dogs. She’s a little unsure of young children, but would likely be fine with older dog-savvy ones as she’s an active, happy dog.
Raven is your typical velcro Frenchie, so the more time with her people the better. Potty training is still a work in progress, so she needs to be in a patient home where she can be let out every few hours, and ideally one with a fenced-in yard. Once she is housebroken, she could manage with a break mid-day, but she would much prefer to spend as much time as possible with her people. She could eventually be a great office companion.
Raven hasn’t met a feline friend while with her foster family, but she does go a little crazy when she sees squirrels out the window, so she likely has a strong prey drive. It’s best to be exercise caution when encountering smaller animals. Her foster mom has this to say about her, “Raven is a very good girl who enjoys life! She’s a great combination of playful puppy and lap dog who loves to get attention and give kisses. She’s as happy as she is beautiful and will make a wonderful addition to someone’s family. Plus, she has a great underbite!”
If you think this play hard, snuggle hard gal is your next furry companion, then don’t delay filling out your application, as this blue fawn beauty is ready to take over your heart and lap.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
