Story
Sabella has made her debut on the available page! This three-year-old black and white beauty arrived into FBRN’s care when her family realized that they could not dedicate the time necessary for her care.
Before coming to FBRN, Sabella spent much of her day alone. While she does not mind spending time in her crate and peacefully sleeps in it at night, it would be best that she goes to a home where she is not alone for long stretches. Housetraining is still a work in progress, so someone who is home and can provide her with a consistent schedule would be ideal. Sabella is both smart and highly food-motivated, so we know she’ll master potty training in no time. She is an excellent leash walker and loves her daily walks. Sabella is very laid back and wants nothing more than to hang out and snuggle with her humans, both big and small. She is indifferent to other dogs and toys.
Sabella’s health is currently stable, but she arrived into FBRN’s care with allergies and a history of ear infections. Her allergies are under control, but she will need to remain of an Acana beef and pumpkin diet and will need daily medication to keep her allergies and ear infections at bay. Despite her allergies, her beautiful black coat is exceptionally soft and shiny! Although she is asymptomatic, Sabella does have a mild heart murmur that should be monitored. Like many French bulldogs, Sabella has a history of back issues, so she will need to be carried up and down stairs, and should not be allowed to jump on and off furniture. Luckily, she is only 20 pounds so she can easily be carried.
Sabella’s ideal home can be almost anywhere – a house, an apartment, or condo would all work. She would make an excellent apartment dog as she is not very active and does not bark. Given her allergies, an apartment could be the perfect place for her. A work from home or stay at home person would be ideal for Sabella’s continued success with potty training. However, once housebroken she could get used to a mid-day break to potty. Sabella would also make an excellent office companion as she loves everyone and everyone loves her
Sabella’s foster mom says that, “Sabella is just absolutely adorable and will steal your heart in an instant. She is friendly and happy-go-lucky; she just wants to spend time with her human. She loves adventures – as long as they don’t include her getting wet! She loves car trips, walks, and meeting new people.”
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. Sabella would love to have you fill out an application and perhaps get to pick her up and take her to her forever home. Car travel is no problem for Sabella. Who doesn’t want to visit the northeast during fall and leaf peeping season?
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations and we do not set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
