“Tanner (named after Barbie’s dog) has adorably fashionable white socks on each paw, the most loving brown eyes, the softest brindle fur with a white star on his forehead, and is more than Kenough! He is already house trained and crate trained, is eager to please and is always looking to you for approval, and a quick learner. He likes to be in the same room as you and easily settles down with a toy if you are busy but also loves to lay his giant bowling ball of a head in your lap if you want to give him couch snuggles and belly rubs. Tanner does great with people of all ages and genders and would be a great Frenchie for both experienced and new owners. He can’t wait to find his new forever family!”

Story
Stop the presses—our dreamy boy Tanner is making his grand debut on the Available Page!
Tanner was picked up as a stray and went unclaimed at the local animal shelter. He came to FBRN a little worse for the wear, with yeasty ears and itchy skin, but a few medicated baths and ear flushes have him looking great and feeling even better! He just had his neuter, and came back from the vet will a clean bill of health. Yay Tanner!
At one year old and a whopping 32 pounds, Tanner is a hunka chunka puppy love—and energy! He loves long walks (at a breakneck pace) and saying hello to every person he meets. At home, Tanner wants to be next to his people at all times, and follows them from room to room (bathroom included, of course). Fortunately, if you need to do something that isn’t compatible with a Frenchie underfoot, Tanner is happy to entertain himself with a chew toy while you take care of business. But you’d better make it up to him later with plenty of cuddles on the couch, preferably with his head in your lap.
Tanner is house trained and crate trained, not to mention a clever boy who learned “sit” while in foster care (and is working on “touch”). But he’s still got some work to do when it comes to manners, especially when it comes to encountering other dogs on-leash. Tanner’s new family will need to continue his obedience training, so that he can grow into the best Tanner he can be. (And what a great opportunity for him to bond with his new people!) Tanner is also a bolter and can run like the wind, so it’s important to keep him in a harness he can’t get out of, not to mention taking extra special care when opening doors.
Tanner would be happy in just about any living situation, so long as his family has the time and energy to devote to his training, exercise, and demands for belly rubs. He loves people of all sizes and ages, and has been friendly with dogs he’s encountered off-leash (though slow introductions with any resident canines are always a must!) While he’d prefer his people to be around all-day every-day, he’d also be fine snoozing the day away while his person is at work, so long as he gets some vigorous mid-day exercise from the dog walker. He’d also be a perfect office dog, although the constant stream of admirers might negatively impact your productivity. Tanner has not been tested with cats, so we have to say no kitties.
Tanner’s foster mom adores this brindle boy to bits, and tells us, “Tanner (named after Barbie’s dog) has adorably fashionable white socks on each paw, the most loving brown eyes, the softest brindle fur with a white star on his forehead, and is more than Kenough! If you think you have the Dream House (or Mojo Dojo Casa House, whichever) for Tanner, then fill out an application to adopt and tell us why you’d be a perfect match! Just be prepared to travel—Tanner is making people swoon in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, and will not be shipped.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
About Tanner
Tanner had neuter surgery on 02.23.2024.
Tanner would benefit from additional training.
A Grade I murmur was noted by the shelter before Tanner came to FBRN, but he had a normal EKG following and the murmur has not been reproducible.
