“Teal is the sweetest little girl. She is a very loving dog who strives to be near her human or humans. During the last four months of having her we have gotten quite fond and attached to her. She will make a wonderful addition to any person or family; she has a lot of love to give. She loves snuggles and overall is just a great little dog. I would really love to see her go to a home with lots of love compassion and care for her.”

Story
Please reach out with a virtual hug for little Teal who is excited to join FBRN’s available page! Teal arrived in FBRN care after a fall which resulted in a serious back injury requiring surgery. She’s doing very well now and is ready to make the move to her forever family.
Upon arriving in foster care, Teal had L1 and L2 disc herniation surgery. Her back has healed, and after plenty of physical therapy, she is getting around just fine. Although, her walk can be a little wobbly at times! Given her history, Teal should not be allowed to jump on and off furniture, and she should not be around young children who might not understand her limitations.
At two years old and 18 pounds, Teal is a young and petite girl. She’s made herself right at home with her large foster fur family and has done well with dogs of all different sizes. She loves to play with tennis balls and can become possessive of them – a habit her forever family will need to keep an eye on. Teal is a happy camper who loves to be close to her person. She currently spends most of her time following her foster mom around the house! While Teal would rather be with her human all the time, she does very well in her crate at night for sleeping. She is also crated for short periods during the day when her foster family is away.
Teal would do well in almost any type of setting, house or apartment, as long as she is not left alone for long periods of time. A home with fewer stairs would be ideal as she should always be carried up and down stairs to prevent any re-injury to her back. Teal is young and should have stimulation during the day and plenty of activity to keep her occupied. A fenced yard would be great, but she also enjoys outings on leash so a fenced yard is not a requirement. A forever family who is committed to teaching Teal some basic training would be wonderful and a great way to bond with her. As far as accompanying her person to the office, we think Teal would do great and she’d certainly love spending more time with her person.
Here are a few words from her loving foster mom, “Teal is the sweetest little girl.
If you think Teal is the perfect addition to your family, please put in an application and let us know why your family is the perfect match. Then get ready for a trip to the Texas Gulf Coast region if you’re selected! FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations and we do not set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
