“Trapp loves attention from his people. He seems a little stressed when there are too many dogs around so I think he would do best with just one other dog companion who is laid back and not possessive of things since Trapp likes ALL the bones! He would do fine as an only dog as well. Trapp is the best boy ever. He’s so well behaved and laid back. He is like a big teddy bear. He will climb onto your lap and want you to hug him and rub his belly! He loves kids and does well with most other dogs. He loves attention from his people but also does fine when home alone. He’s just a great dog; it’s impossible not to love him!”

Story
Who is a fan of The Sound of Music? Wait, who isn’t? Well, he may not be related to the well-known Austrian family (he’s French, of course!), but our Trapp is certainly ready for his small-screen debut on FBRN’s available page! At a mere four years old, Trapp was surrendered due to his former owner’s long work schedule; she wanted him to find a family who could devote to him the time he deserves.
According to his foster family, this little, or not so little, cream puff could potentially win the title of “best dog.” He is housebroken, crate trained, snuggle certified, quiet and so very well behaved. He loves people of all ages and gets along with the resident dogs. He’s not the most active guy. Trapp will engage in play with his canine foster siblings from time to time, but can most likely be found chewing a bone or cuddling on a lap. He does like to have all the bones and doesn’t want to share any of his food with other canines. Trapp gives appropriate warnings and has had no issues with people around his bones or food, but out of abundance of caution, he should not go to a home with very small children who are too young to understand what’s his is his. Trapp is fed separately from the resident dogs and is always monitored when there is a bone around. Trapp would do best in a household with only one other dog instead of a large pack. He would also be happy as an only pup so he could have all the laps (and bones) to himself!
Trapp has brachycephalic airway syndrome and had surgery for narrowed nostrils; he should always be walked on a harness and never be walked with a collar or any type of choke chain or slip lead that tightens around his neck. He doesn’t seem to have a strong preference whether his new home has a fenced yard. He walks so well on a leash we’re sure he would be just fine with a short walk around the block and then unlimited snugs when he gets home. He’s not a barker so neighbors won’t have the pleasure of hearing the song of his people (if you know, you know). He does well when left home alone with free reign of the house or in a crate so, if you work, he’d be fine with a midday break. But don’t be gone too long because he really enjoys the company of his people. Because he’s such a charmer, Trapp would probably love to come to the office with you, if allowed – or if you’re able to sneak him in unnoticed. (Please do not actually sneak him into your work if you don’t have permission.)
If you’re an experienced Frenchie owner or a newbie, Trapp welcomes your application. As long as you provide belly rubs, bones, and laps for lounging, he’ll be quite content. And other than having the nares surgery, Trapp is a healthy, young pup who is very well behaved.
Trapp’s foster family is so impressed with this little nugget saying, “Trapp loves attention from his people.
Trapp is too big to fly in cabin and he really likes riding in the car anyway so his lucky new family will have to plan their trip to Wisconsin. So if cream-colored Frenchies and crisp apple strudels, doorbells and sleigh bells, and schnitzel with noodles are a few of your favorite things, we can provide you with the former off the list at least. Apply for Trapp today and get ready for the snug-fest of a lifetime!
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
