Story
Move over Vin Diesel, here comes Vin the Fawn Frenchie! His foster mom picked up five-year-old Vin from a vet when she learned he was going to be put down after a spinal injury. She knew that wasn’t where his journey was supposed to end and thanks to her dedication, he received a second chance that he has fully seized.
After a spinal injury left him unable to walk, Vin has made incredible progress. He’s now starting to spinal walk and has even begun to occasionally potty on his own! While his walk may be a little wobbly, Vin doesn’t let that slow him down. He gets around just fine, both on and off his wheels. His bladder and bowel control may continue to improve, but he still needs to be expressed several times a day so a family that is home often is ideal.
Vin is currently in a loving foster home where he continues his rehabilitation journey and receives all the care he needs. He’s making progress every day, and with the right support, there’s no telling how far he’ll go. He’s living proof that love, patience, and a little bit of magic can go a long way.
Vin does well with other dogs, adores head and neck scratches, and is a very loyal companion. He’s an energetic dog who gets excited to see his humans and for mealtime! He’s crate- and pen-trained, and he’s incredibly content when home alone or at bedtime. He loves to explore, follow his humans, whiz around the yard with a ball, and soak up all the affection he can get.
What Vin’s Looking For:
- A loving forever home that understands his unique journey and will continue to support his needs and progress
- A safe, accessible environment (carpet or rugs help him with traction)
- A family who will celebrate the little victories and be patient with the process
- A fenced-in yard – yard time is his favorite hobby
His foster mom has this to say about Vin, “We would love to see Vin in a home with a lot of dedication, patience, and mountains of love, as being loved on is his favorite… Vin has so much love to give and will truly be the heart of the home. He deserves all the love in the world.”
If you’re looking for a dog who will inspire you daily, love you deeply, and remind you what it means to persevere – Vin just might be your perfect match.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
