Xena is a lovely goofy girl who just wants to be loved. She loves her face squished and her belly rubbed. She has the most beautiful eyes. She has some braking issues when she comes running and can tend to barrel into things but it’s a fun quirk. She has a cute little happy dance when sitting for treats. She truly has that happy-go-lucky Frenchie personality.

Story
After a series of epic adventures – battling ferocious stuffies, guarding the backyard from squirrels of unusual size, and suffering the dishonor and indignity of a BATH – Xena’s story has reached its final chapter, the quest for a forever home.
Our little warrior princess took quite a circuitous route to FBRN. Her origin story is still a bit murky, but we know she started off in Florida, where it appears she was used as a breeding dog. From there, she moved to Indiana before being surrendered and settling in with her foster family in Michigan. After so much instability in just three years of life, you could forgive Xena for being a bit nervous or distrustful of people. But that’s not the case at all—just like her namesake, Xena’s spirit is unbreakable! Xena is a sweet, playful girl who adores her people and enjoys zoomies and sleepy cuddles in equal measure.
Xena’s hobbies include chewing on antlers, playing tug-o-war, and taking neighborhood strolls. Foster mom describes her as the perfect balance between energetic go-getter and furry couch potato. Xena has never met a person she didn’t like and is terribly fond of her three canine foster siblings, though she seems to prefer female dogs (and is a little put-off by super-energetic males). She is generally submissive, but gets cranky when other dogs get near her food, so feeding her separately is a must.
Xena came back from the vet with a clean bill of health (woo hoo!) and is now trained in the fine art of peeing outside. She comes when she’s called (although she may need extra coaxing to come off the couch) and would be a fantastic candidate for a doggie obedience class.
The perfect home for Xena is one where she can get tons of attention, play time, and belly rubs. She is an easy-going girl who could adapt to any number of housing situations. After all the turbulence and moving around of her early years, the most important thing now is that she feels safe, secure, and loved in a true forever home.
Xena’s foster mom says, “Xena is a lovely goofy girl who just wants to be loved. She loves her face squished and her belly rubbed. She has the most beautiful eyes. She has some braking issues when she comes running and can tend to barrel into things but it’s a fun quirk. She has a cute little happy dance when sitting for treats. She truly has that happy-go-lucky Frenchie personality.”
Are you the Gabrielle to our Xena? If so, then fill out an application to adopt and tell us why! Just remember, Xena is soaking up the late summer sun in beautiful Michigan, and will not be shipped.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
