Update on 12-18-2021 : Cherry went into respiratory distress and was rushed to the emergency vet. She did not respond to oxygen and antibiotics and was given a poor prognosis by her veterinary team. Given her health history, the decision was made to help Cherry cross the rainbow bridge on December 12th, 2021. We are heartbroken, but know it was the kindest option for this special little girl. Thanks to her foster family for all the love and diligent care she received during her time with FBRN.

Please welcome Cherry to the FBRN family. Cherry arrived in FBRN care via a shelter in Texas after she was surrendered by her former owners. This poor girl has terrible allergies and the shelter felt that FBRN was better equipped to get her into tip-top shape and ready for a wonderful forever home.

Cherry is about five and a half years old, and as you can see from the pictures, she is a Frenchie in need of love and attention, which her foster family is already pouring on her! Cherry has proven to be very gentle with young kids; going right up to the fence to get petted by the neighbor kids and giving them kisses in return. Foster mom says Cherry is quite an explorer, wandering the whole house and yard, snorting and sniffing at everything. She seems dog friendly and is looking forward to meeting the rest of the pack.

For now, Cherry is wearing shirts to protect her skin from all the itching and scratching. She will be allergy tested very soon. In the meantime, lots of baths and ear rinses! She’s also taking UTI and hookworm medicine. When she’s healthy enough, it will be time for her spay.
