Story
Yabba Dabba Doo!! Large and in charge, that is our Fred. Like a happy-go-lucky bull in a china shop, this beautiful brindle boy just wants to be a part of everything. He is looking for a special owner who will work with him on smoothing out his rough edges to bring out that diamond of a personality. He was surrendered due to his owner’s change in living circumstances.
After a long day at Slate Rock and Gravel Co, Fred just wants to cuddle with his people, stare out the window and watch the world go by. He would love to find the doggie version of Barney to help him get out some of that Frenchie energy. He does love to jump and is ‘all paws’ when he plays, so needs a dog around the same size that will put up with his shenanigans. He also has shown some tendencies to be leash aggressive with other animals, so anyone adopting him will need to work on that behavior.
Did we say energy? Fred has lots of it, so a home with a fenced in yard would be perfect. He also seems to have a prey drive and is an energetic jumper, so make that fence high enough to keep him safe.
Fred is nearly pawfect healthwise. He does occasionally lick his paws, so his future owner should keep an eye out for allergies. He also is a bit chonky, so will need to work on losing a few pounds to keep him healthy. More time working at that gravel pit should do it!
Fred loves all people – but due to his incredible jumping abilities, he should stay away from homes with small children. He would do great with a person who works from home and wants a constant companion. He would also love a being with family with older kids – bring on Pebbles and Bam Bam! They would just need to be around all the time, since he does suffer from separation anxiety. He also does not love to be in a crate, so a home where he can roam free would be best.
Fred’s foster mom has this to say about him, “Fred exudes joy, happiness and a zest for life. He really prefers to be with other dogs and people. He will follow you around the house and is a big love bug. He needs a family who will be consistent with him and provide some basic training, but also happy to share their lives with them without limit. He has become one of ours and we want the very best for him.”

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. Fred is too large to fly, so prospective owners should be prepared to transport him in the Cavemobile.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people’s private homes. For the foster families’ safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don’t set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
