About Hambone
Meet FBRN’s newest resident hunk, a black-and-tan looker who is sure to get heads turning and hearts going pitter-pat. It’s Hambone!
Hambone came to FBRN because he was resource guarding and picking fights with his canine siblings. His previous owners—who have one small child and another on the way—felt it would be safest for everyone involved that Hambone be an only dog. During his first few days in foster care, Hambone has made it clear that he, too, would prefer not to share the affections of his humans with any canine interlopers. Foster mom reports that on walks, Hambone “pulls like crazy and makes this terrible Pterodactyl sound every time we see another dog,” and it’s apparent that he’s not just offering a socially awkward “hello.” Hambone’s foster parents are well-versed in the art of all things Frenchie and will be working with him to decrease his reactivity and guarding behaviors, but for now it seems likely that Hammy will need to be his forever family’s one and only.
So dogs are a hard pass, but people? YES PLEASE. Hambone is a cuddly, affectionate pup who loves to give little licky-kisses and snuggle on the sofa. But this boy is no couch potato—he is a long-legged, active Frenchie with an insane amount of energy and athletic prowess. He can destuff a plushie at warp speed, runs miles at a time and jumps obstacles like an Olympic hurdler. He’s even been known to leap from one piece of furniture to another. If American Ninja Warrior ever institutes a canine division, Hambone will be a shoo-in!
Hambone eats every meal like it’s his last and has eviscerated a truly astonishing number of toys, so if you’d like to contribute toward his food-and-fun fund, just click on the link above and tell us it’s for Mr. Tall, Dark, & Handsome. Hambone will be sure to thank you with a wink and a toothy Frenchie smile!
