Meet the newest, and toughest, tiny puppy in FBRN care, Kailani. This little girl is between six and seven weeks old and she was surrendered to a shelter due to her medical issues. Kailani was unable to walk or stand, and unfortunately, she arrived with a bit of urine scalding on her underside. Poor baby girl, that can’t be comfortable! But not to worry, we’re determined to help this little princess be her best and find a perfect forever home.

Kailani is thought to have swimmers syndrome, but more will be determined after her first vet appointment. Right now, she’s settling into her foster home where she’s getting lots of love and round-the-clock care. Kudos to her brave foster mom who is bound to be sleep deprived by now! Due to her diligent care, Kailani has already learned to use her front legs to get herself around a bit and her underside is already looking better (thanks to diaper cream and frequent diaper changes). We’re sure those sleepless nights are totally worth it when you get to see that adorable puppy belly and get to smooch that sweet puppy face!

Kailani is gaining weight like a champ and she’s already learning to be vocal. She knows there are other dogs in her foster home, and she has not been a fan of slow introductions. Patience is a virtue that Kailani is still working on, but she’s been such a good girl that she’s already graduated to being able to see her foster fur-siblings through the baby gate.
