About Nelly
Update on 04-02-2022 : With great sadness, we report that Nelly crossed the rainbow bridge on 3/30/2022. After having a mast cell tumor (MCT) removed in February, Nelly seemed to be on the mend. But over the last few days she was lethargic and refusing food. An ultrasound revealed the cancer had metastasized to her spleen. Nelly enjoyed a McDonald’s cheeseburger on her last day. Her foster family and at least half of the staff at the vet’s office were there with her. Nelly knew she was loved.
Whoa, Nelly! Welcome to FBRN! Nelly is a sweet, pied, four-year-old girl with lots of love to give. She was surrendered due to gastrointestinal issues that her previous owners could no longer handle on their own.
Nelly unfortunately suffers from IBD and has a large mass on her hind-end. Foster mom will work with her veterinary team to get Nelly’s health concerns sorted out and to schedule a spay appointment when appropriate.
Medical issues aside, Nelly is a very sweet gal. She loves attention and loves to give affection. She’s been happy playing with her toys and humans and seems very interested in meeting her foster fur-siblings!
Nelly’s care is going to be quite expensive. If you’d like to donate to her piggy-bank, Nelly, her foster family, and FBRN would be eternally grateful. Fingers crossed for an easy recovery and Nelly can be on her way to her forever family! Thank you!
