Welcome Pia! She is a rambunctious 6-month-old who arrived in FBRN care with a broken leg and pelvic fractures after being hit by a car. Sweet Pia was a stray and we’re so thankful for the Good Samaritan who brought her to an ER where she was then transferred to our care.
Pia did very well through her surgery and her prognosis is for a full recovery. Great news! She was on strict “bed” rest – doctor’s orders – which proved to be quite the challenge! Foster mom said she couldn’t believe how active this little one was even while on pain medication after such a major surgery. Pia is going to be handful, that’s for sure!
After a few weeks in foster care, we can already tell that Pia is a busy bee! She likes cuddles but would rather be moving, exploring, and hanging out with her four-legged foster family. Pia’s foster family has already nicknamed her “spider girl” because she can easily climb a four foot high baby gate. Pia’s gates are now lined with cardboard so she has no foot holds and she’s perfectly content to quietly entertain herself with toys. Of course, she needs this down time to recover from her injuries and surgery.

Pia has had a rough start, but with the loving care of her foster family, and the help of FBRN’s wonderful supporters like you, she will make a full recovery and have an exciting life with an amazing forever family.
