Meet River—six years old and brand new to the good life! Until November, she was stuck in a puppy mill, but fate (and FBRN) had other plans. She was briefly with a loving family, but when it became clear that something was seriously wrong and funds were tight, she found her way to us.

Upon coming to FBRN she immediately went to the ER—turns out, she had closed pyometra so severe her poor uterus had expanded into her rib cage. She needed emergency surgery, and she came through it like a champ. Now, she’s on the mend and proving to be an A+ houseguest.

River is the definition of chill—snuggly, easygoing, and just happy to be part of the action. She recently met the resident squad in her foster home and handled it like a social butterfly. She is getting caught up on her vet care, but once she’s ready for adoption, some lucky family is going to hit the jackpot.
