Please welcome Rupert to the FBRN family. Rupert arrived into FBRN care from a commercial breeder without anything of his own, including a name. Thanks to his foster family for picking such a stately name for a stately old gentleman!

Rupert is almost 10 years old and has never known family life. Despite that, he traveled well to his foster home and has generally taken all the other changes in stride. His foster mom tells us that he LOVES to be petted and will gently put his paw on your hand if you stop. He is an incredibly sweet and gentle soul.

In terms of health, Rupert’s foster family will be very busy! Rupert’s skin is seborrheic, scabby, and stinky. His nose is crusted, and his nails are so overgrown they are curling under. Thankfully, Rupert has handled his first medicated baths quite well and seems to enjoy the extra attention. Housebreaking is a work in progress and we’ll have more to report on that progress soon. Rupert has enjoyed romping and rolling in the grassy back yard and foster mom was pleased to see that he moved from sleeping on the floor to an orthopedic bed all on his own. Rupert will soon realize he has made it to the good life!
