St. Paddy’s Day may have come and gone but FBRN’s newest foster pup, Shamrock, is proof that “luck” can be found any day of the year. After this 7-month-old little girl was left in a Northern California shelter with nothing but a note containing her name and date of birth, her luck took a turn for the better when FBRN swooped in and took her safely into foster care. And she is definitely in need of some TLC.

Shamrock has a severe case of demodectic mange for which she started treatment both at the shelter and an urgent care vet. Because of the condition of her coat and skin, she was also prescribed antibiotics, an anti-inflammatory, a soothing shampoo and medicated pads. This sweetheart is obviously physically uncomfortable, but she is on the right track back to health. Hopefully as her physical condition improves, her personality will also blossom. Thankfully she is eating relatively well, getting a lot of rest, and enjoying some gentle pets in her loving foster home.

Despite her very challenging start, Shamrock’s future is bright with the promise of becoming the Frenchie princess she was meant to be.
