Meet Susie! This feisty little firecracker came to FBRN as a very young puppy, along with her mom Angelica, and littermates Chuckie, and Tommy. When she arrived, she was severely malnourished and estimated to be around six weeks old—but given that she was still on a bottle, she was likely much younger.

With plenty of love and care, Susie settled in and even spent time socializing and growing with other puppies. However, it didn’t take long for her dominant personality to shine through. This girl knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to show it—what we like to call “spicy!”

Susie has faced a few health challenges along the way, including persistent regurgitation and a possible hydrocephalus diagnosis. Fortunately, a neurology consult determined that hydrocephalus doesn’t seem likely, though she will continue to be monitored as she grows. In the meantime, her dedicated foster mom has been working hard to help her keep up with her peers. While she still experiences occasional regurgitation, she’s thriving under the watchful eye of her foster family.

Strong-willed and full of personality, Susie is proof that tiny packages can hold big attitudes! With the right guidance (and a little patience), this spunky girl is learning the ropes and growing into the best version of herself. Stay tuned for more updates as she continues her journey!
