Please welcome Torch! He came to FBRN after being taken in by Massachusetts animal control due to a cruelty investigation. Just like the Olympic torch relay, this tan and white-colored cutie made his way from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania to his foster home in Maryland, where he is getting tons of love and excellent care.

Torch is estimated to be about three years old. When he first came into our care, he was clearly emaciated. Thankfully, he has already shown weight gain at his vet visits due to proper nutrition! While Torch has some skin sensitivities, his vet is confident that this will be resolved with continuous nutrition and proper hygiene.

Despite his rough journey thus far, he has already proven to be the sweetest boy. All he asks for daily is love, endless cuddles, and food. Given his previous circumstances, he is still learning the concept of potty training, but his foster family has already seen great improvement! Torch became fast friends with his foster family’s own Frenchie, and is even starting to learn the joys of chewing on bones and toys – tennis balls and playing fetch are his absolute favorites right now!

When it comes to walks, Torch prefers very leisurely strolls. He has been known to get carried home by his foster dad if he decides he’s had enough exercise. He’s absolutely amazing in the car and sleeps great through the night. Torch’s foster mom refers to him as, “such a sweet, calm, cuddlebug. I’m so happy that he’s in a better environment where he can get the nutrition and love he deserves!”

Torch came to us in bad shape, but thankfully, he is slowly getting better. He still needs time and attention to bring him back to full strength.
