About Giblet
October-2020 Update
It’s time to announce that Giblet is making the move to hospice care. Giblet was adopted and quickly returned in early 2022. While she’s come a long way since being returned, another move would certainly be detrimental to her well-being. We believe it is in Giblet’s best interest to begin hospice care with her foster family where she will enjoy the rest of her days feeling safe and loved.
We might be a few months away from Thanksgiving, but it is never too early to give thanks! Please welcome Giblet back into FBRN care; we sure are thankful to have her.
This stunning brindle girl spent her first four years in a commercial breeding facility. Sadly, that type of environment leaves a lasting and sometimes severe effect on a dog. Giblet was adopted, but returned to our care. She will need continued work on her socialization skills before she is again ready to search for a forever home.
In the meantime, Giblet is slowly settling back into foster care. Her foster family is respecting her space and giving her plenty of alone time to decompress. They are taking things slowly, but making sure she still gets some time with the family. Giblet gets easily overwhelmed by new sounds and runs right to her crate where she feels safe. So far, she will only eat her food at night (or when she thinks there is no one around), and she won’t take treats from her foster mom no matter how tempting the treats may be.
It will be a long road, but we know Giblet will come out of her shell and blossom into a wonderful companion. If you’d like to sponsor this gorgeous brindle girl, just click on the donate button and let us know it’s for Giblet. She may not send Frenchie kisses your way just yet, but we know she will appreciate your kind words of encouragement.
