About Kate
Kate found herself in FBRN care after an unfortunate incident where she and a small child were in hot pursuit of a frog. The frog seems to have gotten away just fine, but Kate accidentally nipped the child, and it was agreed that she would be rehomed for everyone’s safety.
Kate has a myriad of health issues – hypothyroidism, hearing impairment, allergies, dry eye, and limited hind end mobility. Despite all of these ailments, up until recently, Kate did not let any of these issues stand in her way of being a playful Frenchie and she in no way felt she was a senior dog. However, Kate is approaching 13-years-old and has begun to slow down. Her foster mom has done a wonderful job managing her health issues, but her legs are just a little but weaker and she struggles with chronic UTIs. Kate and her foster mom have a routine down, so the decision was made that Kate should live out her days in her foster home where she is loved beyond measure, comfortable and in a place that is familiar.
Kate’s foster mom loves her and has this to say about her, “Kate has a face that is so sweet, especially when her tongue is hanging out. She loves her baths and just being close to her owner. She is just a love and everyone who meets her just has to give her some puppy love. If I pull a blanket out to put on bed she thinks it is playtime and will nip at fingers. If she thinks there is food on the floor near me or if I move my feet too fast when she is following me, she will get my toes.”
Many of our Frenchies require ongoing medical care and our hospice dogs are no exception. If you’d like to donate, just click on the button to become Kate’s sponsor. She’ll thank you with that sweet face and little tongue.

For Kate – you remind me of Miss Charlize (except for the baths, which she loathed). We (I know she agrees from heaven) hope you enjoy some extra treats and all the cuddles available.
